Peggy Jansen (South Africa)

Hi Ladies! I’m Peggy Janssens and if I can just inspire some of the readers then you made my day J I’m still discovering who I really am but being in my forties I still got plenty of time for discovering, don’t you think? What I’m sure of however is the adventure I’ve been on so far. So, a bit “About me”

I made the hop across the pond from Belgium to sunny South Africa in 2015. I studied science and math’s (now better known as a STEM) and ventured luck with the Belgium Army to become an F16 fighter pilot. However, being 2 cm’s too short to be admitted I put aside my flying dreams and plan B came into action. I took up Tourism and Marketing and became a successful independent marketing and events manager.  When the first ideas grew to move to South Africa, I saw a great opportunity to say goodbye to the events industry and pick up an old but not forgotten passion, Aviation!

Being a late bloomer didn’t keep me from successfully finishing my PPL training in Belgium in October 2014. After the move to South Africa, the first thing on the To Do list was to convert the European PPL to a South African one. Next step was and is the CPL license followed by an instructors rating. In the meantime, I passed all my CPL subjects and I keep on working towards the next goal.

However, in 2017 the “Drones” came on my path. Not to bore you with a long story, I got from a totally drone dummy to an RPAS instructor and am currently setting up an own Drone training school in Nelspruit with two other aviation enthusiasts. We are looking forward getting the appropriate approvals and seeing Saphire Blue Drone Training & operations fully operational soon!

It’s never too late to pursue your dreams…
